Is Anxiety Taking Up More Space in Your Life Than You'd Like?
Are you tired of letting anxiety call the shots? Do you often worry, overanalyze, or find it hard to turn off your thoughts? Do you have an endless to-do list that stresses you out and might even keep you up at night? Despite feeling tired, do you struggle to wind down and fall asleep at night? Do you often feel nervous or restless? Have you noticed more frequent headaches or stomach issues?
Has your anxiety affected your confidence, relationships, and overall happiness? Do you avoid certain places, people, and/or situations that you know will cause anxiety and discomfort? If you are a people pleaser, your anxiety may make it hard to set and keep boundaries with others, stand up for yourself, and simply say “no.” If you’re a perfectionist, your anxiety may relentlessly push you to overwork to meet your high standards. Maybe you are driven by a fear of failure and this may lead to exhaustion and procrastination.
Anxiety doesn't only affect adults. Children and teens often experience anxiety as stomachaches before school, refusal to try new things, people-pleasing, perfectionism, or difficulty sleeping — signs that are easy to miss or dismiss, but very real and very treatable.
Working with an experienced anxiety therapist can make all the difference — especially when anxiety has been building for months or years without relief.
What Does Anxiety Actually Look Like?
Indeed, anxiety can often feel limitless and have no bounds. When anxiety is sky-high and has taken a strong foothold in your mind and life, it can be extremely challenging to escape its strong grip. In such cases, clients find it beneficial to work with a trusted professional who specializes in treating anxiety.
If any of the following are problems for you, there is effective treatment and I can help you:
Feeling nervous, on-edge, wound-up, restless, difficulty concentrating, easily tired
Difficulty controlling your worries
Experiencing panic attacks or worrying about the next panic attack
Physical symptoms such as headache, stomachaches, heart palpitations, or unexplained pain
Avoidance of uncomfortable and stressful situations, places, or people
Difficulty falling asleep or staying asleep
Anxiety is also particularly common — and often underrecognized — in neurodivergent children, teens, and adults. Many individuals with ADHD or Autism experience anxiety as a co-occurring condition, which can complicate diagnosis and make everyday demands feel even more overwhelming. Dr. Anna has specialized experience supporting neurodivergent clients and their families, providing care that accounts for the whole person — not just one diagnosis.
What Types of Anxiety Does Dr. Anna Treat?
Anxiety isn't one-size-fits-all. At Wildflower Psych, Dr. Anna works with children, teens, and adults experiencing a wide range of anxiety-related concerns, including:
Generalized Anxiety Disorder (GAD) — persistent, hard-to-control worry about everyday things like school, work, health, or relationships.
Social Anxiety — intense fear of judgment, embarrassment, or rejection in social situations, often leading to avoidance of school, friendships, or social events.
Panic Disorder — recurring panic attacks or ongoing fear of when the next one will strike, often accompanied by physical symptoms like a racing heart or shortness of breath.
Separation Anxiety — common in children and teens, this involves excessive fear or distress when apart from a parent or caregiver, sometimes showing up as school refusal or clinginess.
Selective Mutism — most often seen in young children, selective mutism is an anxiety-based condition where a child is unable to speak in certain social situations — like school or around unfamiliar people — despite being able to speak comfortably at home. It is closely related to social anxiety and responds well to early, targeted treatment.
Perfectionism & Performance Anxiety — a relentless drive to meet impossibly high standards, often fueled by fear of failure, leading to procrastination, burnout, or avoidance.
Anxiety frequently co-occurs with ADHD and Autism — whether you're a parent wondering if an underlying neurodivergent condition may be contributing to your child's anxiety, or an adult who has always suspected there might be more to the picture, Dr. Anna also offers comprehensive psychological testing to help provide answers.
You've survived 100% of your worst days so far — those are great odds that you'll get through whatever comes next.

What Is The Anxiety Therapy Process Like?
Dr. Anna tailors treatment to each individual — because anxiety doesn't look the same for everyone, and neither should therapy. Most clients meet weekly for approximately 8-20 sessions. As symptoms improve, Dr. Anna will work with you to gradually reduce session frequency — moving from weekly to every other week, then to monthly check-ins. When you feel ready to complete therapy, follow-up sessions can be scheduled at 3- and 6-month intervals to help you maintain the progress you've made.
Sessions are available via telehealth/virtual therapy on a secure Zoom platform, making it easy to access care from the comfort of your home anywhere in California, Florida, or across 40+ states. In-person appointments are also available on a limited basis in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sarasota, FL.
Treatment is not one-size-fits-all. Dr. Anna draws from one or more of the following approaches based on your individual needs:
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)
The most research-backed form of anxiety treatment, CBT focuses on identifying and shifting unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that keep anxiety stuck in a cycle.
Mindfulness-Based Therapy
Builds present-moment awareness and teaches practical tools to reduce stress, quiet worry, and reconnect with what matters most.
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT)
Teaches concrete skills for managing intense emotions, tolerating distress, and improving relationships — especially helpful for teens and adults who feel overwhelmed by anxiety.
Anxiety therapy can help you:
Calm your mind and lower your stress — so you can be present for the people and moments that matter most
Manage your worries and confront your fears — building the confidence to face situations you've been avoiding
Get better sleep — falling asleep faster and waking up feeling rested instead of already overwhelmed
Ease uncomfortable physical symptoms — like headaches, stomachaches, and the tension your body holds onto when anxiety runs high
Be more present in your relationships — so anxiety stops getting in the way of connecting with the people you love
Set boundaries and stop people-pleasing — learning to say no without guilt and show up for yourself as much as you do for others
Break free from perfectionism and procrastination — replacing the fear of failure with confidence and a healthier relationship with achievement
Feel more like yourself again — calmer, clearer, and more in control of your life
Move beyond constant worry and overthinking with anxiety therapy designed to help you feel calmer, clearer, and more in control.
FAQS
Common Questions About Anxiety Therapy
-
I use research-backed Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) because it is the most effective form of psychotherapy to treat anxiety disorders. However, treatment is individually tailored and not “one-size-fits-all,” so I may also use mindfulness, Client-Centered, and Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT) approaches.
-
The average number of CBT sessions typically ranges from 5-20 sessions. Some people begin to see improvement within a few sessions while others take longer. The number of sessions depends on several factors such as how long you’ve struggled with anxiety, the severity of your symptoms, your progress, and the work you put into CBT skills practice between visits.
-
Weekly sessions are recommended at the start of treatment. As you begin to feel better, session frequency gradually reduces — to every other week, then monthly. Follow-up sessions at 3- and 6-month intervals are available when you're ready to wrap up.
-
Yes — all therapy services at Wildflower Psych are available via telehealth on a secure, HIPAA-compliant Zoom platform. Virtual therapy is just as effective as in-person care for anxiety, and many clients find it easier to open up from the comfort of their own home. Dr. Anna provides online anxiety therapy to clients throughout California, Florida, and 40+ states through PSYPACT authorization. In-person appointments are also available on a limited basis in the San Francisco Bay Area and Sarasota, FL.
-
Yes — Dr. Anna works with children, teens, and adults experiencing anxiety. Anxiety in younger clients often looks different than it does in adults, showing up as school avoidance, clinginess, stomachaches, perfectionism, meltdowns, or difficulty sleeping. Dr. Anna has specialized experience working with children and teens, including neurodivergent young people with ADHD or autism who experience anxiety as a co-occurring condition. Child therapy and teen therapy are predominantly offered via telehealth, with occasional in-person sessions available for those who prefer a hybrid approach.
-
Both are research-backed approaches used at Wildflower Psych, but they work differently. Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) focuses on identifying and changing unhelpful thought patterns and behaviors that fuel anxiety — it is the most widely studied and effective treatment for anxiety disorders. Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) focuses more on building skills to tolerate distress, regulate emotions, and improve relationships — making it especially helpful for clients whose anxiety is accompanied by intense emotions or overwhelming stress. Dr. Anna will work with you to determine which approach, or combination of approaches, is the best fit for your needs.
